Find inspiration for your everyday jottings with a vintage slice of city life. Schrafft's first opened in New York City in 1898 as a candy store at Broadway and West 36th Street, growing into dozens of dining rooms throughout the 1920s and 30s. Savor a unique snapshot of daily life in the big apple with a luncheon menu from February 2, 1959.
This notebook features images from The Buttolph Collection of Menus. Originated through the energetic efforts of Miss Frank E. Buttolph (1850–1924), who in 1899 offered to donate her existing menu collection to the Library, and to keep collecting on the Library's behalf, the collection now contains more than 25,000 menus. It can be found in the Digital Galleries and is held in the Rare Books Division of The New York Public Library.
