Founded in 1925 and named a National Historic Landmark in 2017, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is one of the world’s leading cultural institutions devoted to the research, preservation, and exhibition of materials focused on African American, African Diaspora, and African experiences, featuring diverse programming and collections spanning over 10 million items that illuminate the richness of global black history, arts, and culture.

The Schomburg Shop

An emporium for the best in black-related products, the Schomburg Shop has hundreds of items ranging from classic and modern books for adults and children, desk items and toys, unique gifts, Harlem souvenirs, a wide selection of fashion accessories, and an exclusive collection of quote inspired designs.  Like the Schomburg Center, named a National Historic Landmark in 2017, the shop's selections are chosen to inspire learning and advance knowledge, providing a distinctive shopping destination online and in person.

Every purchase supports the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at The New York Public Library.
