The marble lions flanking the entrance to The New York Public Library's Fifth Avenue flagship building are familiar and beloved icons. They were modeled by sculptor Edward Clark Potter and carved from pink Tennessee marble by the Piccirilli brothers in 1911, the same year the Carrère and Hastings Beaux-Arts building opened to the public. On November 9, 2000, the Postal Service issued a ten-cent stamp honoring these Library guardians, designed by Carl Herrman and illustrated by Nancy Stahl.
This sticker shows your support for a beloved New York institution and its mission to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen communities. Decorate your notebook, laptop, water bottle, and more with a sticker that's removable, durable, and dishwasher safe. Adheres to all surfaces.
