Taken from King Solomon's Song of Songs, this beautiful line is inscribed in a striking stylized Italian Hebrew script of the 17th-century. A declaration of mutual love and affection, this verse can be read on many levels. On the surface it is about romantic love but it can also be read as an allegory about the relation of the finite to the infinite. Traditionally, the verse has been engraved on a ring and given as a token of love.
